Models from face-on photos

Postby bethelljohn on Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:07 am

If a modeler can obtain a photograph of the face on view of a building, as attached, that he, or she want's to model, they can guess the size from the doors, and can, as I did, mirror the frontage in a paint program, to produce the rear, and cut and paste to re-arrange anything required, can crop pieces of the frontage to create the sides, or parts of the sides and, having saved them, import them into Model Builder, and easily assemble them into a finished design. It is a surprisingly quick way to produce a simple, but nicely detailed model of an actual prototype.
