Hi, I've been having a great time with Model Builder 1.7.13 and Advertiser 2.03, amazing stuff! :D

The one difficulty I've had is:

When I try to import custom signage I've made from Advertiser 2.03 into Model Builder 1.7.13 as .mb3 files, the images don't display. I'm unable to select an image to import, and when I try hitting the Import Selected button I am prompted that no images have been selected. I have been able to import JPG files successfully into Model Builder.

From posts back in 2010, i see that Model Builder at that time could not yet import files directly from Advertiser, and users would have to do a cut and paste of the paper printouts. Is this still the case? If so, that is fine. Or am I making a mistake or encountering a software glitch?

Hi Dennis
sorry for the incredibly slow reply! We were subscribed to the forum but I guess it turned off our subscription at some point.

Update your Advertiser (free) from this link:

Update your Model builder (free) from this link:

You will see a "plug-ins" tab at the top of Model builder. All your Advertiser ads will be there, and be edit-able from the Model builder screen. We decided to go this route instead of import.

Thanks, I successfully updated my MB software to version 1.7.16 with the download.

Advertiser's various pallettes now appear as plug ins in MB, and I've successfully added signs (such as Gas/Oil). This is nicer than importing files!

However, when I select a Colorable sign and right click on the Edit Advertisement Text feature, it runs and runs and runs. Is it looking for a particular file and not finding it? I believe I moved all my updates and all the original MB and Advertiser files into the same folder.

Thanks,

Dennis

ok, that is the right version thanks for checking.
The thing is, there is no difference between the other signs and the colorable signs in terms of editing. So we will need to test it further and get back if we find something, what is your operating system?

Turns out there is a difference: colorable signs have no text in them to start with. So I think on your system the program is unsuccessfully searching for text and can't move past it. I will pre-populate the colorable signs with a line that says "new text". That should clear the conflict. Working on that today.

another round of updates should fix your colorable signs hanging up. Let us know what you find!
