Re: Wish List
What I have been doing is using Model Builder to design my basic layout to scale. Once that is done, I print it as a PDF file to load into Paint Shop Pro where I can then add weathering details, rotate items, and assemble them to utilize the matt paper I print the models on efficiently.

Re: Win 7
Windows 7 has an annoying habit of putting certain files in weird places such as C:\Users\(your login name here)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Evan Designs\ etc...instead of your assigned save location in My Documents. Results, your program can't find saved imported items because th...

Re: Coal Tipples?
Best way to tackle a project like this; 1. Do the web search to find the style of coaling tower you are looking for. Save photos and any available measurements. 2. Use Model Builder to construct the building structures. 3. Use a CAD program such as Turbo CAD Designer to sketch up the supporting fram...

Re: Filling in model with material
I use Model Builder to scale out my projects and all major components. To finish things up and compact them into efficiently designed prints, I transfer the results to Paint Shop Photo Pro where I can do the rotations, duplications, and weathering details. That is currently done by printing to a PDF...

Re: Printing issues
I have had this problem with my Epson as well on some projects in the past. I fixed it by doing the following; 1. Print the picture as a PDF file. Save as 300 or 600 dpi. PrimoPDF is a free PDF printer conversion program that gives good results. It functions just like a Windows printer. 2. Load the ...

Re: Making Virtual Buildings
I have done the same for creating buildings for routes in Microsoft Train Simulator. The PRR Eastern route contains a lot of my and other's creations using textures from Model Builder, photographs of buildings, and screen shots of buildings from the street view in Bing Live Earth or Google Earth. We...

Re: Stone Arch Viaduct
I would suggest that you use Model Builder to create the basic sections or texture sheet. Make one full page in the scale you need. Make a second page with stone chunks and concrete pieces two or four times the scale you need.Once done, print as a PDF file and load both file into Paint Shop Pro or P...

Back into the modeling.
Took a while to find my password to log in. Lots has happened since the last posting. Since it is time to model some more Sears Kit Houses and other structures, I just reinstalled Model Builder on a Window 7 computer, no problem, and updated to the current release. Current winter project is detailin...

Re: Cropping or am I missing something?
Been a busy summer with outside work and the PRR route add on for MSTS. My detailed work is based on Model Builder, but, because the finished product has been highly modified through PSP, they cannot be reloaded into Model Builder. Evande has several of those models on file in ready to print jpg for...

Re: Putting together the buildings
Use decal paper ONLY if you are going to put it on a plastic surface. Be sure to seal when dry or it may peel later on. Otherwise, just print directly to Matt photo paper heavyweight and use that material for your structures. It is cheaper then the decal sheet and will save a step in construction. F...
