Sorry to hear you are frustrated! I get you, a select tool would really help.
I don't think I have seen a group come apart though. Can you attach a file or 2 that has this trouble? I will play around with moving things.

You can use the original keycode that either came with your software, or came with the link that you got when originally downloded it.

Yes, advertiser is the best way to add text.
You can however for simple text you can open Microsoft Paint (available on all Windows computers) and type. Then copy and in Model Builder Edit>Paste the text you wrote in paint.

This has happened to a 3 or 4 other users, we have a fix that has worked for these other users.

I am not aware of a file size limit, Customers have sent me files of 30 MBytes size that printed fine. If you computer has limited RAM such a file would present a problem With Model Builder you could have 100s of native elements and your file size is typically less than 2 Megs. The color-able siding is provided by the Siding "Material Designer" option at the top of the design.
With the wood siding I think you are referring to one of the Material's palettes, these are fixed colors.

You will find the files in the file sharing site are provided by a more diverse group of modelers with more variety of styles.
