China. A place with a lot of buildings.

Due to the distinct lack of chinese/asian buildings available I am starting out on creating my own. I have designed a few things in the past in card but am new to this program. I'm hoping it's what I need to speed me along. I have spent some time thinking through what sorts of buildings I want to design and gathered some references. I will probably mainkly use 'real' roofing rather than printed to represent the tiled roofs as this is one area that I feel makes card buildings feel flat.

If anyone has any good sources of textures or photos for inspiration suitable for oriental buildings then I would appreciate any input.

Living in the depths of Devon in England I don't have a nearby 'china town' for inspiration!

Re: roofing, if you make a few cuts with your exacto and lift up every few tiles or so, you would be surprised how textured a paper roof can get! have a look at this article (yes it uses wood shingle not tile but the idea can be applied I think):
http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/mbarticle.html scroll down for the bit about roofing.

I googled ancient chinese buildings and found a lot were made from stucco and large or small stone, there is some of that in the software.
I tried ancient chinese huts and found they were bamboo and reed kind of things.
