Ad-hoc ruler when building

Here is an idea for an ad-hoc ruler when building.
What I have been doing is to pull in a piece of vertical or horizontal trim as appropriate.
This can then be sized to the one particular dimension and can then be moved around to check related dimensions - for example the heights of the windows from the ground etc.
